FAQ

General

Students in any grade can take part, if they are enrolled at a school in Lebanon or are Lebanese students abroad, and they meet the International Mathematical Olympiad's conditions for 2027. A contestant must have been born on or after July 1, 2007, and must still be in full-time primary or secondary school on December 1, 2026. A homeschooled student can take part if they have not received a high school diploma and are still working toward one on that date. Anyone already enrolled in a university or other higher education cannot compete. They can join the association as a member if they want to help run the Olympiads.

No. The Olympiads and the study platform are free for students. The annual membership fee is only for people who join the association to help organize the Olympiads.

They are three separate stages, one after the other. The qualifying round comes first. It is digital: students take it on a computer, in a computer lab at one of our partner universities. The top 100 students from the qualifying round advance to the National Olympiad. It is taken on paper, at a location to be announced. Team selection comes last. Students who advance from the National Olympiad are invited to selection camps, and the international team is chosen from there. The same eligibility conditions apply at every stage.

Yes, in general. This year only mathematics is open, so a student can enter that one.

Yes. The portal is free. It has a syllabus, practice problems, past papers, and a forum, along with training camps and coaching.

Membership is for anyone 18 or older who wants to help run the Olympiads: writing and reviewing problems, coaching, and running the qualifying round and the National Olympiad. The annual fee is $10. You can also volunteer on the day without an Olympiad background, or support the program by donating or becoming a sponsor.

Qualifying Round

Create a free account on the portal and apply. Registration is individual. It closes on November 14, 2026, at midnight, Lebanon time, two weeks before the qualifying round.

Registration is individual. A school that wants to coordinate a group, for example so that students travel together, can write to us. We will place those students in the same session, in the same computer lab.

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to the terms. The application asks for that person's name and contact details.

On computers, in the computer labs of our partner universities. There is no single center. The labs are spread across Lebanon, and each student is assigned a lab and a session. The student starts the qualifying round with the entry code given in the room.

English, Arabic, and French. The qualifying round is digital, so a student can switch language at any point while taking it.

Bring the identity document used in the application: a passport, a national ID, or an ekhraj qayd (civil registry extract). Also bring the acceptance email we send to the address used at registration. That email includes a QR code. A printed copy of the letter is enough.

A student may not communicate with anyone, or use any material or device other than what the proctor allows. Copying, recording, or sharing the questions is not allowed. Cheating disqualifies the student from this cycle.

No. Students arrange their own transport to their assigned computer lab.
